Today, we’re excited to introduce three new team members: Fabio Lopes de Almeida in Brazil, Santiago Valdez in Mexico, and Prashant Motwani in India. Each brings expertise and a shared passion for transforming distributed renewable energy across the globe.
Meet Santiago Valdez
Santiago, based in Mexico, has held positions both as a developer and financier in the renewable energy and alternative investment sectors. With a career spanning founding, growing, and leading multiple companies, Santiago has expertise in business strategy, corporate finance, private equity, valuation, and data analysis.
Santiago decided to join Odyssey after firsthand experiences with the challenges our platform addresses and he’s looking forward to reshaping financing for distributed energy projects across Mexico.
A fun fact about Santiago? After 30 years without country music in his life, it has now become his go-to genre—he can’t get enough!
Meet Fábio Lopes de Almeida
Fábio joins Odyssey from Brazil with extensive experience in renewable energy, particularly in solar and wind power. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded transformative projects focused on strategic planning, financial structuring, and business development. He was inspired to join Odyssey by our innovative approach to bridging financing gaps for solar developers, empowering projects that might otherwise go unfunded.
Fábio is particularly inspired by the rapid growth of distributed solar energy in Brazil and its transformative impact on underserved communities. He’s also passionate about battery storage innovations that enhance grid stability.
In his downtime, Fábio enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with his one-year-old son, turning meal prep into a family bonding experience.
Meet Prashant Motwani
Prashant, based in India, was drawn to Odyssey by our mission to catalyze distributed renewable energy in emerging markets—a vision that aligns with his passion for realizing India’s tremendous potential in this space. With over 17 years of experience across corporate and banking sectors, Prashant brings a well-rounded perspective to assessing opportunities and crafting solutions for business partners.
In addition to his professional expertise, Prashant is an avid moto-biker and is training for a 4,000-kilometer cross-country bike ride across India.
